AUGUST MEETING-9th Annual Garden of Eatin'

The 9th Annual Garden of Eatin'/August Meeting is Saturday August 24th from 1-11pm and is hosted by Oggie and Wendy at ClanOg Gardens. Summer brews are the theme. There will be smoked brisket and porkloin, maybe some salmon. A variety of beverages will be on several taps. Bring a potluck dish and some summer homebrews and commercial brews. A BBQ will be available to grill your own veggies and meat. Street parking is tight, so please carpool. More info is in the Newsletter emailed 8/6.

The September Meeting is Saturday September 14th and is hosted by Don and Sarah at their place in Eglon.

Session Fest Winners

Thank You to all who attended our first Session Fest. We had 13 entries. First Place with 15 points went to Alan for his Kolsch Trip'n. Second Place with 14 points went to Paul for his Honey Otter IPA. Third Place with 13 points went to Brad for his Mini-Bock. Tied for Honorable Mention with 12 points went to Oggie for his Baby Dunkel Weiss and Dan for his Kolsch. Congratulations to All!

Hop Fest Winners

The winners of our June Hop Fest are: First Place with 26 points went to Dave C. for his Enabler IPA. Second Place with 24 points went to Brad M. for his GMC NEIPA. Third Place with 22 points went to Dave F. for his Hop Revenge. Honorable Mention with 16 points went to Bruce Z. for his Pliney the Elder clone. We had 10 entries and 21 club members voted. Congratulations to All!

HOP FEST/JUNE MEETING, new shirt order deadline 6/22 and SESSION FEST/JULY MEETING

The WSB will have their first HOP FEST at our June Meeting Saturday June 22nd from 2-6pm and will be hosted by Brad at his place west of Silverdale. Bring your hoppy homebrew entries in 3 22oz bottles or the equivalent and label them with the name of your brew. We will vote for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Places and there will be prizes. Please bring a potluck dish and other brews to share. You may also want to bring a chair, taster glass and bottled water. Diane will be taking orders and payment for new WSB shirts at this meeting. The WSB will have their first SESSION FEST at our July Meeting Saturday July 27th from 2-9pm and will be hosted by Bruce at his place in Hansville. Bring you Session brew (4.5%abv or lower) in 3 22oz bottles or the equivalent and label them with the name of your brew. We will vote for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Places and there will be prizes. Please bring a potluck dish and other session brews to share. You may also want to bring a chair, taster glass and bottled water. More info is in the 7/9 Newsletter.

BEERSTOCK is Saturday August 17th and Oggie is our organizer.

The Annual "Garden of Eatin"" Meeting is Saturday August 24th and is hosted by Oggie and Wendy and is usually a fruit themed Meeting. September Meeting will be hosted by Don and Sarah, October Meeting will be hosted by Curt and Diane and November Meeting will be hosted by Alan.

Cask Fest Winners

Thank You to All who attended and entered Cask Fest. First Place with 18 points went to Zach for his Flanders Red. Second Place with 12 points went to Oggie for his La Fin du Sobre. Tied for Third Place with 10 points each went to Steve for his Schwartzbier and Brad for his English Dark Mild. Honorable Mention with 9 points went to Oggie for his Delirium Tremens. Congratulations to All!

BIG BREW!

The annual BIG BREW! event is Saturday May 4th starting at 9:30 am. The worldwide Toast to Homebrewing is 10am our time. More info is in the Newsletter emailed out 4/29.

Wood Fest Winners

Thank You to all who attended our annual homebrew Wood Fest and Thank You to Western Red for hosting. First Place with 24 points was Terry for his Foreign Stout with oak chips aged on Jim Beam. Second Place with 21 points (5 1st place votes) was Zach for his Oaked Belgian Dark Strong Ale. Third Place with 21 points (2 1st place votes) was Paul for his Coconut Honey Amber. Thank You to all who joined in at our Strangebrewary Meeting. 28 people voted. In the Strangest Category: 1st Place was Smoked Sour Jalapeno Pineapple by Brad and Steve with 53 points-2nd Place was Red Fruit and Mint Imperial Stout by Alex with 41 points-3rd Place was Honey Nut Beerios by Dan with 24 points-Honorable Mention was Green Tea and Honey Pale by Alex with 16 points and Oyster Stout by Ryan with 15 points.
In the Tastiest Category: 1st Place was Sour Dubbel by Brad with 45 points-2nd Place was Fignum Opus by Dave with 28 points-3rd Place was Smoked Sour Jalapeno Pineapple by Brad and Steve with 21 points-Honorable Mention was Blackberry Weizenbock by Terry with 20 points. Congratulations to All!
