Duvel has finally released a draft version of it's world class beer to the US market, the Green label. Lower in alcohol (6.8) and obviously lighter in carbonation so it will actually pour on draft. It was released in Manhattan in October and people are loving it. It should be in Oregon sometime in the early part of 09. Michael Jackson called Original Duvel one of the top 5 beers in the world! Maredsous beers, also owned by Duvel/Moortgat have released their Blond (or 6) into the US in Package and draft, they now have the Single, Brune/Dubbel and Tripel or 6,8 and 10 in the US.

Join hundreds of microbrew aficionados at the 20th Annual PNA Beer Taste Saturday, November 8, from 7-9:30 p.m. at the Phinney Center, 6532 Phinney Ave. N.

Choose 10 samples from up to 30 choices of Northwest microbrews, including the season’s latest ales. Admission includes pub-style munchies and toe-tapping bluegrass music.

There will also be a silent auction of beer-related items.

Tickets are $25 for PNA members and $30 for the general public. Designated driver tickets are available for $10 each. Tickets are available at the Phinney Neighborhood Center or online at http://www.phinneycenter.org/events/beer.shtml. Participating brewers will be represented on the web page.

This event is sponsored by 74th Street Ale House. Must be 21 or older to participate. For more information, call (206) 783-2244.

Beer Church is a Seattle-based social group that has been organizing a minimum of two charity fundraisers each year for the past 10 years. They donate their time and effort organizing and running the events so that ALL of the proceeds get to the beneficiary.

Beer Church’s goal is to provide fun and affordable ways for people to get involved in their community and support worthy causes.

Batch #600- (No name yet) Keeping with the 8 theme, this beer will have 8 Malts, 8 hops, will be 8.8% ABV, and 88 IBUs.

These kegs will not all be on at the same time. Instead, they will be rotated throughout the week. A true grab bag of wonderful beer! Also, we are allowing one growler per style per person which we have never done before due to limited quantities.

Our regular pub hours are the same with the exception of Thanksgiving Day when we will be closed. Located in Stevenson, WA

Some of the bottles and kegs that have been accumulating in the Big Time cellar for several years swillbe released for one night only. There should be lots of rare and interesting gems!

Thursday, 12/4 Cask Night
There will be a cask keg (served on the bar) from the current breweries of each of the brewers that workedat Big Time throughout the years: Dick Cantwell (Elysian), Kevin Forhan (Northgate Ram), Drew Cluley(Pike), Skip Madsen (Water Street), and Carter Camp (Port Townsend) and possibly more.

Friday, 12/5 Old Timers Night
Big Time will bring back several of the old bar staff to work the taps once again.

Saturday, 12/6 80’s Dance Party
There will be a disco ball and 80’s wear is encouraged!

Sunday, 12/7 Anniversary Party
Big Time officially turns 20. There will be a happy hour where they go back to the 1988 prices- $1.75 apint!

2008 Winter Beer Fest
The Winter Beer Festival will return to the Hale’s Palladium on December 5th & 6th for its 4th year. If you are a fan of dark, robust winter beers then this one is for you! 30 Washington breweries will bring their winter seasonal beers, including some vintage and maybe barrel aged kegs. You’ll get to vote for your favorite and help pick the People’s Choice Awards which will be announced on Saturday night (last year’s winner was Black Belgian by Iron Horse Brewery).
